We practically live in our browsers these days. There are countless times when I find I need to jot down quick notes (e.g., on a phone call, copying text between places, tracking minor todos, etc.).
I first built QuickJots in 2019 out of my own frustration. It's a simple, no-nonsense, privacy-first app for jotting quick notes that just works, even offline, on any device, in any browser. I hope you find it as useful as I do!
You might have heard of the
data:text/html, <html contenteditable>
'trick' for writing quick notes in your browser, but it's not perfect — most browsers
will kill the tab if it's in the background for a while, deleting anything you wrote; you need
to remember the awkward URL if you want to use it on other machines; it pastes HTML by default;
and so on!
